FACTUALS OF PARASYMPATHETIC GANGLIA IN HEAD AND NECK

In Department of Anatomy International Webinar was conducted by Anatomy department, on 29.11.2021, 9.0am -10.00 am on Online platform. Dr. Grija Sivakumar , Professor, Chairperson & Head, Medical Education Department ,Anna Medical College & Research Centre, Montagne Blanche, Mauritius contributed as a Resource Person and gave a Guest Lecture titled "Factuals of Parasympathetic Ganglia of Head and Neck". In this programme the audience learnt about various structures and its significant importance.

Industrial visit by DG Vaishnav College

Faculty from orange lab (Department of Microbiology) arranged an Institutional visit for the undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Department of Biotechnology, DG Vaishnav College on 23rd and 24th of November 2021. Thirty six undergraduate and 23 postgraduate students participated. The students were accompanied by two of their faculties each day. The students had an advanced bio-instrumentation technical know how, by visiting white lab, Blue lab, STEM and FACS lab. The researchers in all the labs collaborated with the program and exhibited their research works for the staff and students. At the end of the visit, the staff and students recorded positive feedback with a promise for future collaborative research works. 

 

Team Based Learning- A Framework for flipped classroom

The Faculty development program in Health profession education conducted by Anatomy department on the topic “Team Based Learning – A framework for flipped classroom” on 17th Nov 2021 by Dr. Kandasamy, Msc N, RN, RPN, PhD, Dharan Nursing College, Salem. He is an expert in Health profession education who delivered a detailed presentation about the teaching learning methods using TBL Session in regular curriculum. He focused the same on student’s and teacher’s perspectives. Followed by presentation we had a discussion and QA session which was highly interactive.

Dentistry, also known as dental medicine and oral medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity (the mouth), commonly in the dentition (development and arrangement of teeth) as well as the oral mucosa, and of adjacent and related structures and tissues, particularly in associated maxillofacial (jaw and facial) area.[1] The field of dentistry or dental medicine includes teeth as well as other aspects of the craniofacial complex including the temporomandibular joint and other supporting, muscular, lymphatic, nervous, vascular, and anatomical structures. The practitioner is called a dentist.
