The department of Public Health Dentistry conducted free dental camp at the Chandrika Primary School located at Nandambakkam on 18th October 2016. About 168 students were screened and provided basic treatment. The camp was conducted mainly to promote oral health care education among the children.
Oral Health care was provided for the teaching staffs of Seeetha Kingston House Matriculation Higher Secondary School on 17th October 2016. The teachers were screened and were given the basic treatment. They were also given treatment card to avail free treatment at Saveetha Dental College
INSIGNIA 2016- The most awaited awarding function of Saveetha Dental College. The efforts and contribution of the students, teaching staffs and Supporting staffs were recognised for the academic year October 2015 to October 2016 . The award function was conducted around 1.00 pm at the MM Convention, Saveetha Dental College, Saveetha University on 17th October 2016. The winners were credited with Certificate, badges and Mementoes.
Free dental care education was provided by the department of Public Health Dentistry for the employees of ReGen Powertech Pvt. Ltd located at Tadak. About 63 employees were screened and 14 of them underwent scaling procedure. Apart from that they were also provided oral health care education.
The department of Public Health Dentistry conducted a free Dental Camp at St. Helen's Primary School located at St. Thomas Mount, Chennai . The children's were screened and they were provided oral health education. They students were also taught about the brushing techniques. About 317 students were benefited by this camp.
A warm welcome was extended to the BDS first years on 10th of October 2016. The Induction ceremony was held at the Decennial hall, Saveetha Dental college around 9.00am. The function started off with a inspiring presentation by our beloved Director of Academics Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan. The First, Second and Third year BDS students were divided into teams and were engaged in various academic and entertaining activities. At the end of the events the winning teams were credited by trophies. The Induction ceremony has for sure comforted the newcomers into the world of professional education and wishing them to become a prestigious Dentists from Saveetha Dental College.
Free dental camp was conducted at Srinsoft Technologies located at Saidapet, Chennai by the department of Public health dentistry on 7th of October 2016. The employees were screened of their oral health and were provided dental health education. About 105 people were benefitted by the camp.

Dr. Benoy Jaco, postgraduate student of Conservative and Endodontics department won II prize for the paper entitled " Biological Tissue Engineers in Endo- Perio Scenario" at the CDE Programme held at the Madha Dental College titled " The Other" on 6th October 2016

Haripriya, II year Postgraduate student from the department of Conservative and Endodontics, Saveetha Dental College has secured first Prize for the paper presentation entitled " The Mysterious Tract - Reconciled!!" in the CDE programme " The Other " held at the Madha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai on 6th October 2016
Dr. Thiyaneshwaran Head of the department of Implantology organised for an hands on Workshop/ Module based training for the Undergraduate students at the Saveetha Dental College. Where the students were taught and made to participate actively in the module sessions.
Free dental camp was conducted by the department of Public Health Dentistry, Saveetha Dental College at the C. S. Central Matric Higher Secondary School located at Mannurpet, Periyar Nagar, Chennai on 5th of October 2016. The students of the school were given basic health education. About 150 students were benefitted by this camp.
Free dental camp was conducted by the Department of Public Health Dentistry at Chindatripet Higher Secondary School on 4th October 2016. Oral health education was given to the students about 229 students were benefitted by the camp.
The university results have been published for September 2016. Both First and Second BDS score very well with a 97% pass. Biochemistry department again rocked the results with 71 distinctions followed by Pharmacology (46) Microbiology (40) Anatomy (36), Pathology Dental materials (32). Overall we are very happy with these results. Congrats to all students and staff.
The department of Tessellation had conducted a CDE programme on One Day Hands on Course on CAD CAM for the dental practitioners. The programme was conducted at the CAD CAM department, Saveetha Dental College which started at 9.00 am and ended around 6,00pm. Dr. Ashok Head of the Department and Dr. Revathy Gounder( Organising Committee) welcomed the gathering. Delegates from Thiruvannamalai, Chennai and Coimbatore attended the programme.
The programme began with the guest lecture on “ Tips and Tricks for all ceramic restoration” by Dr. Revathy and CAD CAM Digital Dentistry by Dr. Ashok. All the delegates efficiently participated in the hands on and experience covered the tooth preparation on individual patients, isolation methods, intraoral scanning, designing of their crown milling and final cementation of the crowns on patients.
The CDE courses provided a systematic approach to learn how to prepare all ceramic restoration for chair side milling utilising CAD CAM Sirono Software with Blucam
The Department of Public Health Dentistry conducted a free dental camp at St. Peters and St. Pauls Orthodox Church on 2nd of October 2016. About 115 people were benefitted by this camp where the public who came for the church were given awareness regarding the health care and diagnosied.

On the day of 28th September 2016, MoU has been signed by Saveetha Dental College and Hospital, Saveetha University with Dr. Akhila Muthukrishnan, Specialist in Special Care Dentistry ABM University Health Board, United Kingdom. This MoU will facilitate to conduct student and faculty research projects, Clinical trials, Students and staff exchange programs, Internship programs for students, Fellowship programmes, Doctoral and Post Doctoral Programmes for faculty and students.
The department of Oral Medicine, Saveetha Dental College invited Dr. Akhila Muthukrishnan, an specialist in Special Care Dentistry ABM University Health Board, United Kingdom to deliver a lecture on two topic
