Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics organized a webinar on “Esthetic paradigm in Orthodontics” presented by Dr. Mohamad Iqbal, Assistant Professor, Department of orthodontics, Tamilnadu Government Dental College, Chennai on 21.8.20. The principle orthodontic goal in the correction of malocclusion include function and esthetics. The era of Edward Hartley Angle Ushered in function as the prime focus. But the 90’s saw the paradigm shift back to aesthetics. The significance of the role of operative dentistry in achieving microesthetics was worthwhile discussing, since it aids in achieving successful orthodontic treatment with an aesthetic functional smile.
