Tooth decay, also known as dental caries or cavities, is a breakdown of teeth due to acids made by bacteria. The cavities may be a number of different colors from yellow to black. If the decay is left untreated it may lead to pain and difficulty in eating. The best way to avoid tooth decay is to keep our teeth and gums as healthy as possible. Hence an awareness program was conducted at Government Middle School, Nemili on 9th February, 2018 to raise awareness regarding dental caries which eventually causes tooth ache among school children. Images of caries progression were shown to the children. Proper brushing technique was demonstrated to them and then the students were asked to demonstrate the technique themselves. A total of 50 students were benefited.
