Dental camp was conducted at Loyola International School located at Nazarethpeth on 10th of November 2016. The students were screened and were given basic oral care. About 311 students got benefitted out of this camp. The student of Public health Dentistry demonstrated and gave training on brushing techniques and basic oral health education.
The employees of Lakshmi Airtel distributor agency located at Porur were given free dental care on 9th November 2016. The employees were screened and given basic treatment procedures. They were shown demonstrations on how to brush their teeth and maintain a good oral health. About 44 employees were benefitted by this camp. They were also given free treatment cards.
Free dental care was provided to the students of Schram Academy situated at Maduravoyal,Chennai on 8th November 2016. The students were given training on how to brush their teeth and they were educated about oral hygiene and how to maintain a good oral health. About 170 students were benefitted out of this camp.
As a part of Social responsibility and service Saveetha Dental College and hospital celebrated the National Tooth Brushing on 7th of November 2016 to create awareness and importance of oral health care. There were posters and demonstration held at the OP reception by the Department of Public Health Dentistry. The public were also taught about the techniques on how to brush their teeth. Our College Dean Dr. N D Jayakumar gave free samples of the toothpastes and brushes to the public.
As the continuation of the celebration of National Tooth Brushing Day on 7th November. The Public Health Dentistry department students provided oral health education at Milton Primary School located at Saligramam, Chennai on 5th of November 2016. The students were provided with free tooth brushes and toothpastes. The students were taught about the techniques on how to brush their teeth.
The Department o Public Health Dentistry celebrated National Tooth Brushing day (November 7th) at Mahatma Gandhi High School (SEED ORGANISATION), Kuthambakkam Village by distributing tooth pastes and tooth brushes. They were also given basic oral health education and also taught about the brushing techniques. About 64 students were benefitted by this camp.
Dr. Anitha Roy, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology received Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award for Best Teaching Excellence for the year 2016. She received the award on 22nd October 2016.

The students were taught how to brush their teeth and to maintain a good oral hygiene. They were also given treatment cards to avail free treatment at the Saveetha Dental College and Hospital. Dr. Prasad Ravichandran Post graduate student from the department of Orthodontic won best Scientific Poster award at the 10th International Cleft Lip,Palate & Craniofacial Congress. The conference was held at Hyatt Regency, Chennai on 24th & 25th of October 2016. He presented on the topic "Prevalence and pattern of Tooth genesis in Cleft lip and palate patients".
Free dental camp was conducted at Balaji Nursery and Primary School situated at Pulianthope on 28th October 2016 . The children were taught how to brush their teeth and maintain a good oral hygiene. 371 students were benefited out of this camp and they were provided with dental treatment card to avail free treatment at Saveetha Dental College.
The department of Public Health Dentistry conducted camp at Hope Special School located at Ambattur, Chennai on 27th October 2016. As a contribution towards the social responsibility the students of Seveetha dental college conducted a free dental camp for the special children. They were screened and given basic dental care treatments. About 104 children were benefited out of these camp.
The students of Jaya Jaya Sankara International School located at Nazarethpet were provided free dental care treatment on 26th October . The students were screened and provided basic treatment. They were also taught how to brush their teeth and maintain a good oral hygiene. About 518 students were benefitted by this camp.
The Department of Public Health Dentistry conducted at free dental camp at CUGMS Girls School located at Broadway, Chennai on 25th October 2017. The students where educated on the importance of oral health care and how to maintain a good oral health. The students were also shown demonstration on how to brush their teeth with the help of tooth models. 106 students were benefitted by availing free treatment card.
The children of Ankur Vidhya Mandir Primary School located at HVF Estate, Avadi were provided free Oral care service. The children were taught and given training on how to brush their teeth. They were educated about the importance of Oral health hygiene. Free treatment card were provided for them to avail free dental care service. About 418 children were benefited by the camp.
The Lions Club of Wahermanpet initiated for an free dental camp for the Public on 23rd of October 2016. The department of Public Health Dentistry, Saveetha Dental college rendered dental services where the public were screened and they were provided basic dental treatment and free treatment card. About 105 of them were benefited by this camp.
Free dental camp was conducted at Saraswathi Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School located at Thiruverkadu on 22nd October 2016. The students were screened and provided basic dental care treatment. They were taught and given training on how to brush their teeth and maintain a good oral health. About 424 students were benefited by this camp.

The employees of the concern underwent oral health screening and they were provided with treatment card to avail free dental treatment at Saveetha Dental College.
