The Department of General Pathology organized a Continuing Education programme on ‘Basics of Infection Control and Hand Washing Techniques’ on Saturday 16/3/19. The invited guest speaker was Dr.Jemima Kingsley., M.Sc., Ph.D., Chairman-Infection control Board and Quality Manager- Laboratory services from K.M.CHerian Frontier Life Line Hospitals, Mogappair. She briefed about the six steps in Hand Washing Techniques, Hospital Spillage management, use of Personal Protective Equipments, Hospital wastes and details about the segregation and disposal of hospital wastes by using proper color-coded bags. The participants were very interested, actively interacted and got cleared their doubts related to infection control and waste management. The programme was ended by felicitating the guest speaker.
